Himlung Himal, situated near the border of Nepal and Tibet is one of the major touristic destination in the Himalayan region. This less challenging peak is located between the Annapurna and Manaslu region and is famous for the beautiful Himalayan views that one can see during the expedition. You will be trekking at the heart of Himlung Himal which is located at a height above 7000m. One shouldn’t need to have technical climbing experience to do this trek but should have a good physical stamina and positive attitude towards the Himalayas to complete this trek. Himlumg Himal Expedition starts with a long drive to Besi Sahar from Kathmandu. You will also have an option for a chartered flight from Kathamdnu to Besi Sahar with additional charges. You will get an opportunity to trek on the famous trail of Annapurna circuit and reach the beautiful Marshyangdi valley. We will the pass the beautiful Nar and Phu valley and one can get another awesome opportunity to explore the ancient Tibetan culture and lifestyle of people living in the Nar and Phu valley. Trekking ahead with the beautiful panorama of mountain ranges will take you to the basecamp of Himlung Himal. The base camp of this mountain rewards the visitors with the beautiful views of mountain ranges and unique landscapes.

Day 01: Kathmandu (1400m):
Namaste and welcome to the country of Nepal. You will be welcomed by our representative in the Tribhuvan International Airport and then transferred to our hotel in Kathmandu. At evening, you will be welcomed by an authentic Nepalese cuisine in one of the typical Nepalese restaurants of Thamel and then we will do a briefing about the itinerary of our trip. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing including Lalitpur and Bhaktapur:
After an early morning breakfast, we will head towards the beautiful and ancient places of Kathmandu valley which includes the world heritage sites, temples, places and other many beautiful things. Talking about Kathmandu, this place is a paradise to the tourists of all over the world and one can get an opportunity to relax his/her body from head to toe by doing the sightseeing of some of the iconic things of the world. You will be taken to Pashupatinath temple which is one of the most religious and historical temples of Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees from Nepal, India and all over the world come to this ancient temple for their rituals and celebrations. After the visit of Pashupatinath, we will drive for 15-20 minutes to do the sightseeing of Bouddhanath stupa. After exploring these historical monuments, we will be doing the sightseeing of ancient Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. Visiting Lalitpur and Bhaktapur will give you an opportunity to see the living goddess, Kumari and explore the ancient streets filled with arts and architects. A refreshing evening walk on the streets of Thamel and Basantapur will make you feel Kathmandu a really cool and historical place and you will also explore lots of new things in these streets. At afternoon, we will be back to our hotel and do the briefing of Everest Expedition trip. You will be guided about some of the important rules and suggestions for the trip such as what is your responsibility, what to do and what not to do on the trek? You will be then introduced to your fellow expedition staffs and guides and relax the hotel after dinner. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Chamje 1,560 m – 08 hrs journey.
We will begin our today’s trek with a long drive to Chamje. After breakfast, we will leave Kathmandu at 7 a:m and then drive to Chamje passing the Besi Sahar, Khudi, Bhulbhule and Jagat. This route gives you an opportunity to do the sightseeing of rivers, terrace fields, landscapes and other many beautiful things. Leaving Syanje behind, we will reach Chamje. Overnight at Jagat
Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m – 05 hours.
This will be the first day of our trek as we will be trekking along the Marsyangdi river to reach Dharapani. One can get an opportunity to see the magnificent views of Annapurna and Manaslu. Trekking for few more hours will bring us to Tal Besi and then a few hours walk will bring us to Dharapani village. Overnight at Dhatraoani.
Day 06: Trek to Koto 2,600m – 05 hrs.
From Dharapani the vegetation, scenes changes as the air gets significantly cooler on reaching the higher snow capped nation, a wonderful stroll through dense forests to reach at Bagarchhap. After a stunning walk heading towards Dhanaqi and afterward past ranch, apple plantations inside pine timberland with the superb views of Lamjung and Annapurna II, the trail takes after Marysangdi River upstream on passing Tiplang town to reach at Koto close to Chame a major town and headquarter of Manang area
Day 07: Trek to Meta 3,560 m – 06 hrs.
From here onwards on hidden trails leads from standard trekking courses of Annapurna circuit, walk drives north into a crevasse between Pisang Peak and Kangguru Himal as the trail winds upstream of Nar-Phu khola passing little scattered homestead cottages and shades till Meta or Methang is reached after medium-term camp.
Day 08: Trek to Kyang 4,100m – 06 hrs.
Walk proceeds advance north towards Phu zone into the complete wilderness where you may see some natural life such as Blue sheep, Snow Leopard and other untamed life, our pleasant picturesque walk takes after Phu khola (stream) upstream till Kyang after a decent stroll of six hours.
Day 09: Trek to Phu 4,580m – 05 hrs.
Morning walk leads the last town of the experience at Phu on leaving Phu khola (stream), from here into completely open territory where valley opens with brilliant perspectives, strolling on summer field to reach at Phu town for an overnight.
Day 10: At Phu rest day and visit Samdu Choling and Tashi Monastery.
Today will be our acclimatizing day at Phu where you can take a short walk to visit the famous Tashi Monastery, Samdu choling Monastery and Kyauchyu water fall.
Day 11: Trek to Himlung base camp 4,540 m – 04 hours.
We will be doing a short trek to reach the base camp of Himlung Himal. We will be trekking high above the Manang valley and Phu areas and then we will reach the base camp of Himlung Himal. You will also be guided with some techniques and skills that will help you to reach the summit of Himlung Himal.
Day 12: Rest and acclimatization day at Himlung base camp.
Today, we will be resting at the base camp so that we will be used to at the higher altitudes. Our guides and leader will instruct and teach you some climbing techniques and skills, sharing all the knowledge for the successful and safe climb.
Day 13-22: Climbing period for 10 days setting maximum of 3 high camps.
We will set maximum of 3 camps and start our challenging climb to reach the summit of this beautiful peak. During this few days ferrying loads and gears to higher camps to make the climb to the summit more effective and accessible. On this climb where you need some days staying at advance camp till weather improves, weather around high Himalaya is the main factor for the climb. Camp I situated at an elevation of 6,000 m /19,685 ft and Camp II at 6,350 m /20,833 ft on the southeast ridge, and from here might need oxygen to reach the summit, after crossing two camps and spending couples of nights. Depending on weather condition for the ascent to Himlung summit, finally reaching on top of the peak spending some time enjoying marvelous view of high Himalaya range and then descend back to Advance base camp and unto base camp. Descend is technically more difficult than climb up to the summit, however it not as much difficult like other major expeditions mountains but you might face some challenges like low level of temperature and low atmospheric pressure after being in high altitude for many days.
Day 23: Return to base camp.
Today, we will return to the base camp and we will bring all our equipments at the base camp. Our leaders and guides will make sure that you will not be injured while descending from the base camp.
Day 24: Trek back to Phu valley.
We will today trek back to Phu valley which is a steep descent downwards. Few hours of pleasant and easy walk will bring us to the beautiful Phu valley.
Day 25: Trek to Kyang 3, 020 m – 05 hours.
We will again descend to reach Kyang and then descend via Phu Khola. Few hours of easy descend will bring us to Kyang. Overnight at Kyang.
Day 27: Trek to Dharmasala – 05 hours.
Today, we will be trekking via a deep gorge and cross the bridge of Phu Khola and walk along the river bank. Few hours of trek will bring us to Dharmashala. Overnight at Dharmashala.
Day 28: Trek to Koto – 05 hours.
Today is going to be an exciting day as we will be trekking to reach Koto via the rich green vegetations and trees. You will feel warmer as we are trekking at the lower altitudes. Overnight at Koto.
Day 29: Trek to Dharapani – 05 hours
Today will be our last walk of the adventure as the path leads downhill to Dharapani village following a nice wide trail with views of Mt. Manaslu 8,163 m /26,781ft, from Timang. Walking for few hours along the forested area of rhododendron, fir, pine, oak and maple trees to reach Dharapani for last overnight stops around Manang area.
Day 30: Drive to Kathmandu via Bhesisar 830 m 06 hrs journey.
After a good and last breakfast of the trip we will drive back to Kathmandu following narrow dirt road and following Marysangdi River downstream for few hours’ passing villages and towns of Syange, Bulbule, Khude and at Bhesisar, a large town headquarter of Lamjung district, from here we will trek another hour to join Pokhara-Kathmandu highway and then with a good ride we will reach at Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Day 31: Departure Day:
Mt. Himlung Expeditions completes today here in Kathmandu, as per the time for your international flight, you will be transferred to the airport and then transferred to your own home country.
