    Mera Peak trek is one of the major trekking destinations of our country and takes the visitors to the summit of this beautiful peak. This trek is the highest treks of the country and offers some of the magnificent views of Himalayan ranges. One of the major attractions of this trek is the is the closer and majestic view of the highest mountain of the world, Mt. Everest. This trek is designed for those trekkers who wish to trek on the Himalayas of our country and do the sightseeing of some of the highest mountain ranges of the world.

     

    Mera Peak trek is a challenging trek and one should have a good physical stamina and previous climbing experience to complete this trek. The maim objective of this trek is to reach the summit of this beautiful peak. This trek is the combination of the beautiful scenery of Himalayas, natural beauty, forests, landscaped and an opportunity to explore the wilderness along with the wide variety of flora and fauna found in this region.

     

    Mera Peak trek offers the trekkers with the spectacular panorama of mountain ranges including some of the highest mountains of the world such as Mt. Everest (Highest mountain of the world), Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Annapurna and other many beautiful peaks.  One can get an opportunity to do the sightseeing of a wide variety of species that are found in this region. The unique and ancient lifestyle of Sherpa people living in this region is also another major attraction point for the tourists.

     

    Mera Peak trek starts with a scenic flight to Lukla and then we will trek to Hinku valley passing many dense forests of rhododendron and oak trees. You can do the sightseeing of the lifestyle of people living in this remote valley and explore the culture and traditions of these people. We will then ascend to reach the basecamp of Mera peak and then start our challenging and technical climb to reach the summit of this peak. Climbing to the summit is going to be a bit difficult and at the same point rewarding as well. One can get an opportunity to see the magnificent views of Himalayas from the summit of this beautiful mountain.

    Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1400m):

    Namaste and welcome to the country of Nepal. You will be welcomed by our representative in the Tribhuvan International Airport and then transferred to our hotel in Kathmandu. At evening, you will be welcomed by an authentic Nepalese cuisine in one of the typical Nepalese restaurants of Thamel and then we will do a briefing about the itinerary of our trip. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

    Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing including Bhaktapur and Lalitpur:

    After an early morning breakfast, we will head towards the beautiful and ancient places of Kathmandu valley which includes the world heritage sites, temples, places and other many beautiful things. Talking about Kathmandu, this place is a paradise to the tourists of all over the world and one can get an opportunity to relax his/her body form head to toe by doing the sightseeing of some of the iconic things of the world. You will be taken to Pashupatinath temple which is one of the most religious and historical temples of Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees from Nepal, India and all over the world come to this ancient temple for their rituals and celebrations. After the visit of Pashupatinath, we will drive for 15-20 minutes to do the sightseeing of Bouddhanath stupa. After exploring these historical monuments, we will be doing the sightseeing of ancient Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. Visiting Lalitpur and Bhaktapur will give you an opportunity to see the living goddess, Kumari and explore the ancient streets filled with arts and architects. A refreshing evening walk on the streets of Thamel and Basantapur will make you feel Kathmandu a really cool and historical place and you will also explore lots of new things in these streets. At afternoon, we will be back to our hotel and do the briefing of Everest Expedition trip. You will be guided about some of the important rules and suggestions for the trip such as what is your responsibility, what to do and what not to do on the trek? You will be then introduced to your fellow expedition staffs and guides and relax the hotel after dinner. Overnight at Hotel.

    Day 03: Fly to Lukla, Day 3: Trek to Paiya / Chutok (2,730m):

    After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport and then a domestic flight will bring you to Lukla. This 24minutes flight above the breathtaking green and white mountains will take you to the majestic land of Lukla. We then head eastwards from Lukla and trek along the Kalo Himal Ridge. We walk on a jungle trail, cross a bridge over the Handi Khola and reach Surke Village. We will then cross the famous Chutok la pass and reach the small Sherpa settlement of Paiyan, also known as Chutok. Overnight in Paiya.

    Day 04: Paiya to Panggom (2,846m):

    We will descend from a slippery trail and then cross the Kari La pass. We will then walk through the dense rhododendron and bamboo forests on a narrow mountain trail. We will also get to do the sightseeing of beautiful Dudhkoshi valley. Trekking forward via Sherpa settlements will take us to Panggom. Overnight in Panggom.

    Day 05: Panggom to Ningsow (2,863m):

    Today’s trek starts with an early morning breakfast. Leaving Panggom behind, we will trek further and cross the Panggom La pass. We will then ascend and walk on a steady path and then trek northwards to reach Peeng Kharka Danda. We will also cross the Peeng Kharka khola and Ningsow khola on the trail before reaching Ningsow village. Overnight at Ningsow.

    Day 06: Ningsow to Chhatra Khola (2,800m):

    We will first climb and then descend for a while and then climb again to reach the Ramailo Danda. We will get extraordinary views of Mera Peak and Salpa from this beautiful place. After ascending and descending on our trail, we enter the Makalu Barun National Park. Our trail from here to Chhatra Khola is called Pasang Lhamu trail. On the way, if we are lucky, we might even come across the elusive Red Panda. Overnight in Chhatra Khola.

    Day 07: Chhatra Khola to Kothe (3,690m):

    We will start our today’s day with an early morning breakfast and then we will proceed north on the main trail to Mera peak. After walking on a trail next to the the Majang Khola, we merge with another trail which moves alongside the Hinku Khola. Our trail moves straight ahead towards Tashing Ongma which has seasonal tea shops. We continue our trek and cross the bridge over the Sanu Khola before reaching Kothe. Overnight in Kothe.

    Day 08: Trek to Thangnak (4,350m):

    As we head to the west bank of the Hinku Khola northwards, forest blurs in and valley zooms out. We spot meadows being used as grazing areas for goats, sheep and yaks in the Upper Hinku. After several ascents for 4-6 hours, we approach summer settlement of Tangnag as we cross a single-plank bridge at Gondishung. We halt for lunch at this spot. Lying in its vicinity is 200-year-old gompa resting beneath a massive boulder and a number of crude mani walls. Overnight in Thangnak.

    Day 09: Trek to Khare (5,000m):

    We will be walking about 3 hours to reach Khare. We will pass the Dig glacier and reach Dig Kharka. This place offers the spectacular views of mountain ranges including Charpate Himal. As we climb through the Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers, the trail becomes more steepy. Trekking ahead through this steep trail will take us to Khare. Overnight at Khare.

    Day 10: Acclimatization day in Khare (5,000m):

    After breakfast we will start our pre-climb preparing. Our expert climbing guide will give training on top climbing methods and the best possible methods for utilizing climbing boots. For example, the ice hatchet, climbing boots and saddle, crampons, etc. The preparation will likewise incorporate utilizing ropes to go here and there. In spite of the fact that it isn’t required to have earlier preparing for Mera Peak Climbing, we believe that some preparation experience will expand your certainty and climbing aptitudes to increase your climbing skills.     Day 11: Trek to Mera Base Camp (5,416m):

    We will walk through the steep route and it will take about 3-4 hours to reach the base camp. We will have our lunch once we reach the base camp. We will then do the ice climbing training and our professional guides will train you the techniques to climb on slippery ice. Overnight at tented camp.

    Day 12: Climb to High camp (5,850m):

    We will walk about two hours through the rock-strewn area and reach the High camp. The trail can be dangerous as there is a high risk of heavy snowfall. We set up a high camp and from here the sunrise and sunset can be viewed along with the Mt. Everest Makalu, Cho Oyu, and south face of Lotshe, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse are outstanding and seems like they are piercing the skyline. Overnight at tented camp.

    Day 13: Mera High camp to Mera Peak Summit (6,476m] to Kongme Dingma (4,800m):

    Today is going to be a big day as we will be climbing to reach the summit of Mera Peak. We will advance towards the summit at the early morning around 2 a: m. Professional guides will help you to put the crampons and rope for the journey to the summit of Mera peak. 6-7 hours of challenging and difficult climb will take us to the summit of this beautiful peak. One can get an opportunity to see the beautiful panorama of Himalayan ranges including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Makalu (8,463m), Lhotse (8,516m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7 ,129m) Ama Dablam (6,812m) Kangtega (6,779m) and other many beautiful peaks. We will then descend down to the high camp and then descend to reach Kongma Dingma. Overnight at Kongma Dingma.

    Day 14: Reserve Day:

    We have allocated an extra day as a spare day in case of problems with the weather or acclimatization. Overnight in Tented Camp.

    Day 15: Khare to Kothe:

    We trek from Khare to Kothe along the same trail used previously. After reaching Kothe, we celebrate our success by trying out local delicacies and wines. Overnight in Kothe.

    Day 16: Kothe to Thili Kharka:

    We begin our trek to Thuli Kharka after breakfast. We climb up and descend, cross several tributaries of the Inkhu Khola before reaching a forked trail nearby Taktho. We choose the trail on our right and continue walking. Our trail passes by a Chorten after which we walk downhill on a steep trail. Next, we ascend to Thuli Kharka and pass by another Chorten on the way. Overnight in Thuli Kharka.

    Day 17: Thuli Kharka to Lukla via Zatrawa La pass:

    We cross the Zatrwa-La pass at 4,600. As soon as we cross the pass, we are welcomed by the sight of the beautiful Lukla Valley which is surrounded by Cho Oyu, Kongde Peak, Numbur Himal, Kusum Khangru and other Himalayan peaks. From Zatrwa La pass we walk all the way down to Chutang and then straight forward to the Lukla village. In the evening we enjoy dinner in the Himalayas of Nepal with our crew. Overnight in Lukla.

    Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu:

    Early morning fly back to Kathmandu. You will have a free day for shopping and you can also explore the streets of Kathmandu.

    Day 20: Final Departure:

    Transfer to airport for final departure to onward destination.
