Pikey trek is a newly opened trek and an alternative trek of the Everest Base camp trek especially designed for those trekkers who don’t have enough time to trek to the Everest Base camp. This is a comfortable trekking to the tallest hill of Khumbu region which stands at a height of 4086m. The major attractions of this trek are the magnificent sunrise and sunset view from the hill, spectacular panorama of mountain ranges, Sherpa cultures and lifestyle along with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of flora and fauna found in this region.
Pikey trek is one of the most famous and demanding trek of Khumbu region as it saves the time and is relatively easier trek which offers the closer view of the world’s highest mountain Mt. Everest. Pikey trek offers the best views of mountain ranges including some of the highest mountain of the world such as Mt. Everest, Annapurna, Kanchenjunga, Thamaserku, Makalu, Nuptse, Gauri Shankhar, Lhotse, Khatang, Amadablam, Shishgampa, Mera Peak and other many beautiful mountain ranges. One can get an opportunity to explore the wilderness, lifestyle and culture of people living in the Everest region. The main attraction of this peak is the majestic sunrise and sunset that one can see from the summit of this peak.
Pikey Trek starts with a scenic flight to Khumbu region from Kathmandu. Our representative will welcome and greet you in the Tribhuvan International Airport and then we will take a chartered flight to travel to Khumbu region. We will then trek via dense rhododendron and oak forests to reach the trail of Pikey Peak. You will be exploring many ancient Sherpa settlements and villages on the trail to reach the summit of this peak. We will also pass many ancient monasteries and gompas to reach the summit of Pikey peak. We will then descend via the same route and fly back to Kathmandu to end our marvelous journey.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Dhap, Trek to Japre
Day 2: Trek to Pikey Base Camp
Day 3: Sunrise at Pikey Peak, Trek to Loding
Day 4: Trek from Loding to Junbesi, Visit Thubtenchoeling Monastery
Day 5: Trek from Junbesi to Taksindu
Day 6: Trek from Taksindu to Phaplu, Visit Chiwong Gompa
Day 7: Flight from Phaplu to Kathmandu
