    Trekking in Upper Mustang is a lifetime dream to all the trekkers and mountaineers of the world. This adventurous journey takes you to the two of the most restricted places of Nepal and they are Upper Mustang and Nar Phu valley. This journey takes you to two of the most remote and isolated valleys of our country. This trek gives you an awesome opportunity to trek and explore “The Last Forbidden Kingdom” and also you can cross the famous Teri La Pass. Upper Mustang helps you to experience the life of the true mountain people who were not in the touch with the rest of Nepal for hundreds of years and even until recent times had an unrecognized king.

     

    Upper Mustang Trek via Teri La pass gives you an opportunity to explore the ancient caves, monasteries, medieval caves, breathtaking views and the sightseeing of ancient Buddhist cultures and traditions. The best time to visit the Upper Mustang is on the month of August and October. As Mustang is rich in Buddhist culture, we can see lots of Buddhist cultures and Buddhist people here. It is alternate way to experience the Tibetan culture and landscapes to the tours provided by the Chinese Government. The Tiji festival which is celebrated in Lo-Mathang is another popular destination for tourists in the area.

     

    This beautiful journey starts with a scenic flight to Pokhara and then to Jomsom. Upper Mustang Trek via Teri La Pass starts from Jomsom and ends at Jagat. Trekking along the ancient monasteries such as Rangchung cave Monastery, Ghar Gompa, Luri Cave monastery and other many ancient monasteries will take us to Lo-Mathang. Trekking ahead and crossing the Teri La Pass will take us to Nar Phu valley which gives us an awesome opportunity to explore the ancient lifestyle and culture of Sherpa people.

    Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu (1400m):

    Namaste and welcome to the country of Nepal. You will be welcomed by our representative in the Tribhuvan International Airport and then transferred to our hotel in Kathmandu. At evening, you will be welcomed by an authentic Nepalese cuisine in one of the typical Nepalese restaurants of Thamel and then we will do a briefing about the itinerary of our trip. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

    Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing including Bhaktapur and Lalitpur:

    After an early morning breakfast, we will head towards the beautiful and ancient places of Kathmandu valley which includes the world heritage sites, temples, places and other many beautiful things. Talking about Kathmandu, this place is a paradise to the tourists of all over the world and one can get an opportunity to relax his/her body form head to toe by doing the sightseeing of some of the iconic things of the world. You will be taken to Pashupatinath temple which is one of the most religious and historical temples of Kathmandu. Thousands of devotees from Nepal, India and all over the world come to this ancient temple for their rituals and celebrations. After the visit of Pashupatinath, we will drive for 15-20 minutes to do the sightseeing of Bouddhanath stupa. After exploring these historical monuments, we will be doing the sightseeing of ancient Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur. Visiting Lalitpur and Bhaktapur will give you an opportunity to see the living goddess, Kumari and explore the ancient streets filled with arts and architects. A refreshing evening walk on the streets of Thamel and Basantapur will make you feel Kathmandu a really cool and historical place and you will also explore lots of new things in these streets. At afternoon, we will be back to our hotel and do the briefing of Everest Expedition trip. You will be guided about some of the important rules and suggestions for the trip such as what is your responsibility, what to do and what not to do on the trek? You will be then introduced to your fellow expedition staffs and guides and relax the hotel after dinner. Overnight at Hotel.

    Day 03: Flight to Pokhara and then to Jomsom:

    You will be transferred to the Tribhuvam International Airport and then you will take a shirt flight to Pokhara. You will again take another flight to reach Jomsom which is a beautiful valley in the Himalayas. Overnight at Jomsom.

    Day 04: Jomsom to Kagbeni and then to Chele:

    We need a special permit to trek in the Manaslu region and we will first take the special permit and then trek along the Kali Gandaki river. We will enter the Upper Mustang and trek through the ancient Sherpa settlements of Upper Mustang. You will also do the sightseeing of beautiful fields in the hills cultivated with wheat, barley, buckwheat and millet. Trekking ahead the trail will take us to Chele. Overnight at Chele.

    Day 05: Chele to Ghilling:

    The trek today takes after the minor climb above Samar town to an edge, with a descend to a deep gorge to a Chorten painted red, dark, yellow and white. Every one of the colors are produced using nearby stones. Meeting some Juniper trees, the trek goes ahead to another township. From here the way slips to Shyangmochen, little livings with some tea houses at 3,710m, taking right downhill the trek drops towards to Gelling for medium-term remain

    Day 06: Ghilling to Tsarang:

    From Gelling, the path goes up graciously via the fields up the centre of the valley, crossing below the Tama Gung village. The walk carries on a long climb across the head of the valley to the Byi La Pass 3,950m which is also elevated place of the trek as well the cross itself happens to be the southern bounadry of Lo. From here a normal down for half an hour arrives to junction and the right trail leads to Tsarang and then we will move towards the left Ghami town.

    Day 07: Charang to Lo-Manthang:

    Today is the day you arrive the final destination. The path starts with short downfalls passing the Charangchu River with steep uphill on side and crossing via the Tholung valley. Path seperates with normal climb as the valley goes up to a large Chorten which marks the boundary of Tsarang and Lo-Mangthang. After that we climb the landscapes on elevation of 3,850 meter where from the clear Lo-Mangthang village can be seen.  As there is only one entry point in this place at the northern side, one has to circle the wall to reach main gate to get inside the Lo-Mangthang village

    Day 08: Rest or explore day of Lo-mangthang.

    Having around 150 houses the Lo-Mangthang village is residence of lamas, the closely located, and palaces and monasteries are in bottom portion in these houses. The school, health post, police station is situated outside the walls to the north. People of Lo-manthang, they are very much Tibetan and are based on practical cultural economy. Before strong trade with Tibet was disrupted, all of the salt and wool trade on the Kali Gandaki crossed via Lo-mangthang. This is the village where the king of Mustang lived. During the trek you will be exploring all the significant and cultural places which will mesmerize you

    Day 09: Lo-Manthang to Yara:

    Lo-Manthang the trail walks straight till Dhi pass 4100 meters and then descends down to Dhi village. The trek from Lo Manthang to Muktinath is harder, but more rewarding and interesting than the west side of the valley. Dhi village is one of the best villages of whole Lo-Mathang and it seems more prosperous and it is settled in a very suitable place. We continue to Yara village. Overnight at tea house lodge.

    Day 10: Yara to Tange Height:

    We need to cross a river from Damodar Kunda which is one of the sacred lakes. There is no bridge on the Ghechang River, so we need to walk across the river in bare feet to cross this river. After crossing the river, the trail climbs up till high above a pass of 3850m, the trail goes through grasslands, treeless bare hill. After the pass the trail drops directly to Tange village at an elevation of 3340m. Tange is small village with around 30 houses but most of the houses are attached each other. On the roofs, one can see the piles of dry woods, which also reflect the prosperity in their society. Overnight at tented camp.

    Day 11: Tange Height to Yak Kharka:

    We will be trekking today to reach Yak Kharka. Walking via several ups and downs will take us to Yak Kharka. Overnight at Yak Kharka.

    Day 12: Yak Kharka to Samena Khola:

    Trekking about 5-6hros from Yak Kharka will bring us to Samena Khola. Overnight at tented camp at Samena Khola.

    Day 13: Samena Khola to Teri La Base Camp:

    An easy uphill trek will take us to the base camp of Teri La. Overnight at Teri La Base camp.

    Day 14: Acclimatization day at Teri La Base Camp:

    We will today rest at the base camp. One can do the sightseeing of famous mountain ranges including Everest, Annapurna, Makalu and other many beautiful ranges from the base camp. Overnight at base camp.

    Day 15: Teri La base camp to Teri La High Camp:

    Trekking via the uphill will take us to the high camp. Overnight at High Camp.

    Day 15: Teri La High camp to Teri La Phedi via Teri La Pass:

    Today is one of the important days of our trek as we will cross the famous Teri La Pass and reach Teri La Phedi which gives us an awesome opportunity to explore the ancient lifestyle and culture of people living in these places. This trek is going to be a bit challenging as passes are often filled with ice and heavy snow. Overnight at Teri La Pheri.

    Day 16: Teri La Phedi to Labse Khola:

    Trekking via many valleys will lead us to Labse Khola. Overnight at Labse Khola.

    Day 17: Labse Khola to Yak Kharka:

    Descending along the Labse Khola will take us to Yak Kharka. Overnight at Yak Kharka.

    Day 18: Yak Kharka to Loang via Naar pass:

    Today’s day will start with an early morning breakfast and then we will cross the Naar pass to reach Loang. Overnight at Loang.

    Day 19: Loang to Phu Gaon:

    A gradual climb to the hills and then an easy descend will take us to Phu Gaon. Overnight at Phu Gaon.

    Day 20: Phu Gaon to Meta:

    Today Trek to Meta village with pack Lunch and It is 5/6 hrs walk via desert area and Typical local village of Kyang and Chyakhu village where people don’t live whole months. The trail is gradual up and downhill to Phu village. You can see mountains of Annapurna ranges. Overnight at tented camp.

    Day 21: Meta to Koto:

    Today we exit the restricted area of Narphu valley. Following the Nar Khola and Greenland forest. The trail is adventurous with rocky trail and long walk down to Koto. It takes 6 hours walking. Overnight at tented camp.

    Day 22: Koto to Kathmandu:
    Today, we will be taking a long drive to reach Kathmandu from Koto. Private jeep will take us to Kathmandu via Besi Sahar. Overnight at Kathmandu.

    Day 23: Departure Day:

    You will be transferred to the airport and then transferred to your own home country.
